Four innovative ‘People’s Pitch’ winners set to pitch for funding from xénos investors


An innovative idea for a new wind turbine and a device to avoid friendly fire in battle were amongst the 9 business ideas pitched to a panel of xénos investors in the People’s Pitch event at Venturefest Wales.


The experienced panel whittled down the 9 finalists in the hotly contested ‘People’s Pitch’ to 4 winners.


Uzimatech and Veritii won £1,000 support package from xénos

David Taylor of Uzimatech, developers of wearable safety technology and Richard Williams of Veritii, a 3D home interiors planning app for home won the top prize, worth in excess of £1,000 to each company.


Both now qualify for a package of support from xénos, the Wales Business Angel Network that includes a year’s membership, mentoring and the opportunity to pitch for funding at one of xénos’ investment forums.


Eye check and Radsense won £500 mentoring package from xénos

Eye Check, an automated vision checker for third-world countries, conceived by Rumina Awal and an energy-saving curtain hanging system, Radsense invented by Edward Reed and presented by Michael Sosner won mentoring packages from xénos.
